Abigael's On Broadway is under strict supervision of the KOF - K. At all times we have a mashgiach (mash-gi-ach: supervisor) available. One of their responsibilities is to answer any questions a customer has about kashruth (kosher laws). A mashgiach is a religious Jew, who has been approved by the KOF - K to represent our restaurants. Their job is to make sure that the kashruth of The Abigael's Group restaurants stays impeccable.
A basic premise in Jewish Dietary Law is that Meat and Dairy products must be kept separate.
Abigael's On Broadway is a Meat Restaurant. Therefore:
There is no milk allowed in Abigael's On Broadway. We only use Coffee Rich, a non-dairy creamer.
There is no butter, only margarine and olive oils available.
There is no cheese on the premises.
Baby formula, or baby food is not allowed in the restaurants at all. If this poses a problem, alert the mashgiach or the manager.
Abigael's On Broadway has a liquor license. Therefore no liquor or wine may be brought into the restaurant. We only use Mevushal in our restaurant. Mevushal refers to the way in which the wine is prepared.

Abigael's On Broadway carries only Chassidis.he Schetah Meats. The majority of the items are from Meal Mart / Alle Processing / Rabbi Teitelbaum. The rest is either Satmar or Lubavitcher. The specifics change according to the menu and the week. If necessary, check with the mashgiach or chef to find out where a specific item came from.

What are Abigael's Friday & Saturday night hours?
The Jewish sabbath starts Friday at sundown and continues until Saturday at sundown. The restaurant is always closed Friday nights. From late-October through mid-April we are open on Saturday nights after sunset.
